Through environmental storytelling, this project aimed to design a 3D environmentthat conveyed a detailed biography of a space and its inhabitant.
Concept art
a coocoon of sorrow
The character living in this space is a conservator from 20th-century Italy, who restores statues in a unique style inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi.
Faced with his child's passing, he has with a heavy heart packed away the remnants of the child’s former room. Forced to repurpose the space into a workshop, he's with every cut reminded of the trauma, as he tries to escape into his work.
Detailed 3d models
Objects with a story
Many of the models we made from scratch, and were tailored specifically for the narrative we wanted to tell, featuring intricate details like fingerprints that suggests at how the objects have been used
The 3D models are made in Blender with scratches and details sculpted in ZBrush and subsequently textured in Substance painter.
